CLEASBY LAKE FISHING RULES

ALL ANGLERS FISH AT THEIR OWN RISK

STRICTLY DAWN TO DUSK FISHING ONLY. ANYONE FOUND ON THE LAKE OUTWITH THESE TIMES WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE AND FACES DISCIPLINARY ACTION.

100% CATCH AND RELEASE

• ALL anglers must be members of the club. Must have their Clubmate ID and display their car passes.
• NO guest tickets issued for this water. STRICTLY MEMBERS ONLY.
• No wading or seats/boxes in the water.
• No alcohol or fires allowed.
• Under 16s MUST be accompanied by an adult
• Parking only in the allotted area, not on the road near gates. NO vehicular access around the lake.
• REMOVING OR INTRODUCING fish strictly prohibited. Anyone found removing fish will be prosecuted under the Theft act 1968.
• NO fishing from OR entry into the nature reserve.
• Barbless hooks only
• NO keep nets allowed at any time.
• LANDING NETS are to be used at all times. When carp or pike fishing, a minimum net width (preferably rubber mesh) of 42 inch to be used.
• Unhooking mats to be used and all fish treated with respect and care. Fish to be returned to the water as soon as possible and allowed to recover in landing net prior to release.
• Disgorgers/forceps must be used as necessary.
• NO fishing with more than 2 rods. No more than 3m apart and never to be left unattended at ANY time.
• All traditional hook baits allowed but no nuts, power baits, gels or pastes etc.
• Max 1kg of groundbait. Loose feed only via hand, feeders, or pole cups. Bait boats may be used but ONLY within your swim.
• NO mapping of the lake using sonar boats. A layout of the lake depths will be provided in your Clubmate App

PIKE FISHING

• STRICTLY OCTOBER 1ST TO FEBRUARY 28TH ONLY. ANYONE CAUGHT ACTIVELY FISHING FOR PIKE OUTWITH THESE DATES WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE LAKE.
• NO spinning using the following: Spinner blades or spoons. ANY lure with a treble hook.
• ALLOWED: Single hooked barbless shad lure. Jerk baits may be used providing treble hooks have been changed for single hooks.
• Mono/braided line must be a MINIMUM of 20lb breaking strain with a minimum wire trace also of 20lb.
• When dead baiting, a single semi-barbed treble (or a treble with 2 of the barbs removed) may be used for anchoring the bait. The other hook is to be a single hook
• All pike anglers are expected to carry the correct equipment for dealing with deep hooked fish. Long nosed pliers. Wire cutters. Do not allow fish to run before striking when dead baiting. Better to lose a fish than deep hook it

THE CLUB AND ALL ITS MEMBERS WILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO ENQUIRE INTO AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION IN THE EVENT OF ANY INFRINGEMENTS OF THE ABOVE RULES.

THE EXCUSE 'I DIDN'T KNOW' WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IF CAUGHT FISHING OUTWITH THE ABOVE RULES. THESE RULES ARE PROVIDED IN THE CLUBMATE APP.

FINALLY: please respect other anglers fishing either adjacent to you or directly opposite. DO NOT cast into other people's swims or drive bait boats into them.

Any rule changes to the above will be discussed by the committee and a push notification will be sent out to all members via the club app.
